About Us
The Flag
Ranch was established in 1903 and has been owned and operated by family
ever since. Until 4 years ago, the Flag Ranch has always been a working
cattle ranch. However, with a 10 year drought, we were forced to sell the
cattle. This encouraged magnificent Desert Mule Deer to enter the 20,000
acre open ranged ranch. This vast region they live in is as remarkable as
the deer themselves. This western part of Texas is known as the Permian
Basin. It is a dry, hostile climate and if it doesn’t stick, sting or bite,
it must be foreign. With an abundance of Wild Blue Quail and Javelina, the
Flag Ranch offers hunters many opportunities other than just Desert Mule
Deer.
The Desert Mule Deer Season is only 16 days long and always starts the
first Saturday after Thanksgiving.
